Today is my eldest daughter’s birthday (21st August 2020) and I wanted to celebrate it by relaunching my email, so here goes.
Welcome to my new look newsletter. If you’ve been on my email list, you know that I’ve been MIA for a while now. You were receiving a newsletter every Monday and Friday.
That stopped suddenly because there were huge technical problems. I have searched and searched. Finally I found the amazing Sally A Curtis, who found the perfect person to fix my problems.
I’m elated to send you emails again. I’ve really missed the contact with you all. I’ve loved receiving emails in response to what I’ve said and all the help you give me with questions and comments.

We’ve all experienced joy as a child. That laughter of a baby is infectious. How many of you have been lost for hours watching YouTube videos of babies cracking up over the smallest things like the sound of ripping paper? Remember that joy? – you can actually build your life around it.
I love the quote by Maya Angelou ‘Ask for what you want and be prepared to get it’.
Let’s Begin To Rediscover Joy
Ready, Set, Go…
It isn’t a matter of just saying what you want. You must put steps in place to make things happen. An effective way to start is by imagining what you want. You’ll notice I didn’t say your perfect life because there is no such thing as perfect.
It’s like knocking down and rebuilding your house. I’ve noticed around my area, it’s very popular to knock down your old home and totally rebuild it on the same old property.
That’s what I can help you do with your life. It’s the same old you with parts of your life that you don’t like and parts that you’d love more of, however most people want to cut out the bad bits.
Those bad bits have served a purpose. They’re usually protective. And you’ve built them into your life for a reason, so don’t discount them.
3 Steps To Help you Rediscover Joy
First Step – Relax
I’m actually not going to get down and dirty in this email, I’ll do that along the way. Now, what I want you to do is sit comfortably in a quiet area and imagine what you want in your life.
Second Step – Mind Map
Think wide and far. Now grab a large piece of paper, pencils or pens and create a mind map. A mind map is a brain dump of everything. Don’t think about it. Just write. Be creative.
Questions you can ask yourself:
- How do I want to feel?
- Who do I want around me?
- Where do I want to be both physically and emotionally?
- What do I want to achieve?
- What are my goals?
- What are my boundaries?
- What works?
- What doesn’t work?
Focus on what you want and keep adding to your mind map.

I want you to build your mind map to help you focus on how you want to enrich your life.
Be creative. Just add anything and everything. There’s no limit to what you can have, be and do. This is just something that you dream of, it’s not the actual ‘thing’yet –We’ll build on that next time.
So have fun with the mind map. I hope you enjoy doing it.
Third Step – Use Your Imagination
Be imaginative. Step outside the square. Think big. And think like you’re going to live the next chapter of your life.
Have fun with this because life’s too short, take steps today to rediscover joy.
